Why use a primer?
I love my makeup primer and it’s become part of my morning routine. I once heard it described as ‘underwear for the face’. Just as underwear smooths and flattens, providing the canvass over which your clothes go, so a makeup primer creates a smooth and even base for your makeup and holds it in place.
Arbonne’s makeup primer is the best I’ve ever tried. It creates a matte effect, evening out fine lines, taking away any shine and minimising the appearance of large pores. It keeps your moisturiser in and your makeup on, creating a longer-lasting look.
What makes this one special?
All the primers claim to do that, so what makes this one so special? It’s the texture. Bizarrely it comes out of the bottle feeling like a very light vaseline. But apply it to the skin and it disappears, creating the softest velvety texture.
This primer, unlike a cream-based one, can also be applied on top of makeup, so if you’re going out after work and don’t want to have to re-apply all your slap, just use a bit of primer to cover up the shiny areas and voila! The flawless look you started the day with.
I don’t feel properly dressed without a primer and some days I don’t bother with the rest of my makeup. I’m happy with the matte effect I get using just this one product.
Arbonne’s primer is vegan and botanical, containing horsetail extract and grape seed extract which have skin conditioning properties. It is dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested and as it’s highly concentrated, a little pea-sized amount goes a long way.
This is a must-have for every makeup kit, available from Arbonne’s website.
Do you use a primer? Which one?
Much love, Vx
