I love this time of year. The sun is dazzling, but it’s still cool enough to wear tights and long sleeves without attracting strange looks. It’s also the perfect season for layering light fabrics and wearing floaty dresses.

So what’s hot on the high street this season? Well the fabrics may have got lighter, but the trends are pretty much the same as winter.

Animal prints show no sign of abating, thank goodness. Camouflage is still very visible, particularly on joggers and utility trousers. Maxi dresses are loose fitting and filled with busy patterns. Layer with a trench, parka or leather jacket and you’re good to go.

Here are some highlights from the high street, along with a few of my own outfits. Apologies if any of these clothes have sold out. They were all available at the time of writing. But you have to be quick!

Spring jackets

Trench coats and Spring parkas in navy blue and camel are everywhere.

My personal take on the Spring jacket is this lightweight, waterproof parka from GANT. The British weather is so unpredictable that I wear this on dog walks, even on sunny days like this. You never know when you’re going to be caught in a shower.

Joggers

I’m yet to find a pair of joggers that flatters my pear shape, but I’ll keep you posted.

Maxi dresses

There are so many lovely dresses out there. Shirt dresses with a belt are flattering on fuller figures. This Matalan one is my current fave.

Much love
